Hi guys, I have been using this forum for over two years now, and this is my first post regarding my nasal symptoms. To keep everything short and concise, I will start off with my past nasal medical treatment history, then follow by the current symptoms I have, and finally, I will attach my CT Scan images, and I really appreciate if you guys could help me to identify whether I have ENS or not, and which part of my turbinate has been resected and by how much? I have no idea how to read these images.
I first started to have nasal congestion around Nov, 2008 and since then, I have had two nasal surgeries (first one: Turbinate Reduction in July, 2009 and second one: Septoplasty and Turbinate Reduction in Oct, 2011). I did not feel too much improvement after both surgeries, was feeling blocked and burning inside the nasal cavity (congestion alternate between right and left side). Then I was referred to see an allergy specialist around August, 2012 and was diagnosed to have dust, dust mite and mold allergy. So I started to get allergy shot in Sep, 2012 regularly. It did not show any improvement for my blocked nose until Oct, 2013 (13 months after getting the allergy shot), I started to feel both sides of my nose can breathe in and out air very well (in fact too well, feel very little resistance)
The following list outlines the current symptoms that I have been experiencing since Oct, 2013.
1. Only sense little airflow when breathing through nose
2. When breath in air, feel slight burning sensation inside nasal cavity
3. Feel dry in the area between nose and throat (back of tongue) sometimes
4. Feel the air breath in making the chest uncomfortable and have coughing problem (usually last for one or two month) periodically
5. Feel all the air goes through the region between inferior turbinate and palate to enter the throat when breathing
6. Do not see mucus except a minimal amount sometimes just when I wake up
7. Sometimes feel difficulty to breathe/suffocation (is this paradoxal obstruction?)
8. Inhale and exhale air through nose fast due to little resistance, short breathing cycle (Is there a chance that I have hyperventilation?)
9. Sometimes having headache and lightheaded feeling. Not pain, but pressure behind forehead and temple areas.
10. Sensitive to smells
I am attaching 8 CT Scan images here (5 from the front and 3 from the side). If you know how to read these images, please take a look. I wonder how much percentage of the anterior or the head of the inferior turbinate has been resected? Because from reading other posts, I found out that resecting the anterior of the inferior turbinate is the worst part to developing ENS (correct me if I am wrong). Also, from the CT Scan, has the overall structure inside my nose been altered much, which would change the way how I breath (is this paradoxal obstruction)?
