I never had a dry nose, ever, even with a cold before the sinus infection of last year and then post surgery. I had my septoplasty as part of my sinus surgery and turbinectomy almost a year ago. My septum is worse than before. The second opinion ENT scoffed at the work that had been done. The first ENT surgeon has offered to fix it!!!! No way. Al the pain I had for months. He thinks that is all that is wrong with me and does not ackknoledge any breathing issues or dry tissues etc MY new ENT said he would leave everyhthing alone for the time being. I think he is concerned about disrupting the mucosa, and also more tissue might be cut away, and also opening one airway to more air ( and thus dryness) would be counter productive to trying to heal the mucosa. I feel that it is the turbinate that is at the root of everything for me. I would be interested to know what you find out and what you decide.

Just asking because this is one of my current predicaments at the moment.

Some doctors try to fix and straighten the septum by cutting away more and more pieces of septum hoping it forms a straight line. The really good (hard to find) ENTs rebuild and straighten your septum using a special plastic.
