I am not a medical doctor but:- general anesthesia and some local anesthetic were administered
- a septoplasty was performed which they removed cartilage and bone from the deviated portion of the septum (1.5 cm of bone/cartilage was left to support the nasal)
- the maxillary spine (a bony portion towards the front of the nose) was removed
- the incisions were stitched closed
- a radio-frequency coblation was performed on each turbinate (some tissue of the submucosal portion of the turbinate was vaporized; theoretically with relatively low heat)
- each inferior turbinate was outfractured (turbinate bone was broken to move the turbinate away from the wall)
- harvested cartilage was implanted to repair the nasal collapse

omg i typed a response and pressed cancel. I remember 2 week follow up he removed a HUGE piece of bloody tissue from my right nostril. typing this with finger in right nostril. feel like it provides me with some relief.
