From my perspective, I think it is a difficult decision to make. I can see significant tradeoffs both positive and negative with this decision. I certainly see why it would make sense to stay at home in an environment that you have control over and where you could rest for a bit if you need to. You can use your humidifier and on bad days, you likely could take a break and then make up the time later (depending upon the specifics of your job). It would also be easier to avoid facing people when you have a bad day. Even though it seems that staying at home is the easiest answer, I don't think it is that straightforward. It is likely that your world will become smaller if you work at home. With ENS, it is common for us to become more introverted and avoid interaction. Unless you have the ability to make sure you get out and interact outside of work, then you will become more isolated. I do see advantages to having people around during the day. Even though at times it is harder to be around people, I also think there is a benefit to having them around since as you mention they can help to take your mind off your nose. For me, I know that even though I avoid people a lot more than I ever did before, it seems easier to suck it up and be more productive when others are around. It may somewhat depend upon your work environment and what you have been able to share about your condition with others. If you are uncomfortable about your situation and need to basically hide it, then you may be better off at home. But if you have been able to share what is going on, then the presence of your co-workers may be beneficial.

If it is possible, would it make sense to see if you could have a hybrid approach? What if you could work in the office for 2 or 3 days and then work at home for the other 2 or 3 days? Maybe this would give you the opportunity to get the boost of having other people around for part of the time but give you the opportunity to recover while working at home.
