What do you feel are the tangible tradeoffs? If you decide to telecommute/work from home, would you have to take a pay cut?

From the info you provided, I think your environment (until you either receive injections, a more powerful future stem cell procedure, or implants) should be at home centered around easier nasal management/better quality of life. To me it sounds like you'd be more comfortable there; but I also realize it might feel like or even itself constitute a step backward.

A big con with working from home will be that you will not be leaving your residence as much. You need to compensate in other ways. I personally do this through exercise, walks with my Mom, hikes with a friend, and other social methods.

If you so choose, make this switch on the best possible terms. Get them to miss you at the office and they'll never want to let you go. If you choose to work from home, plan to work even harder for them in other ways. It sounds like quite a good gig if it provides you with this flexibility (I am glad a nice person from here has been able to retain a solid job). And I bet, conversely, that you've been a great worker preceding and during your illness and opened up this option for yourself by virtue of that (with some good luck mixed in).

Opinion: With only the info you provided, "home" is my resounding vote. But home will come with some huge tradeoffs that you will need to temper with other life choices. And you have to remember: the decision will always be yours, no matter what anyone recommends to you.

I know you are not asking for advice but my humble personal opinion is that, if you haven't already, cover this with a favored family member/trusted real life friend to cover the negatives and positives of this prospective switch.

These are questions I'd ask myself: Will my boss honor this arrangement (paper is always be more legitimate than a vocal agreement, unless the individual/s offering this to you is trustworthy). Who will I miss seeing every week? I may feel better at home (an immense advantage, in my opinion) but what are some of the interpersonal and professional this might introduce?
