In terms of revision rhinoplasty for cosmetic reasons, the surgeon cannot know the state of your nasal structure until he unroofs the nasal skin envelope. This includes how much scar tissue formed post-operatively after your first sugery, how much cartilage was excised and which sutures and overlap techniques may have been used, as well as any sort of grafting that may have been utilized which might have resorbed or warped over time. All of these things are not typically seen on ct or endoscopy and have nothing to do with your routine sinus surgery. I don't know what operation you saw on TV, but I would wager that if you have been damaged unroofing the nose will not tell you any more than your ct scan and endoscopy already have.
