Hi Shane,

There IS hope, really, there is...

If ENT's can get to this level of innovation so quickly, you know other treatments are right around the corner.  Chi Guy and others are right, a cure is not far off.  Just think about how impossible the task is at the outset.  Just to get research dollars to fund studies is impossibly difficult, never mind the time it takes to get subsequent procedures approved for use.  But they did it!

If things keep going as they are, you can be sure that you will be up to bat again soon.  And with a group like this one, that has tirelessly advocated for this cause, you can be sure that things wlll continue to change rapidly.

As Nose 1 has said - and this helped me a great deal - focus on everything you can do to help yourself now.  I am doing just that, and it's helped keep me focused and in the moment.

YOU are NOT alone in this!  It is important to remember that and to know that all of the people who have written in on this thread have felt just as hopeless as you have felt.
That is what this support forum is for, to connect with others who understand this hellish syndrome.

The good thing is, we don't all fall apart at once!  So they'll always be someone whose had a good day (week?) to your bad day.

Believe me, I know the feeling of desperation.  It's why I posted the unbridled truth.

I tried weekly counseling sessions and I plan to continue it because it was helpful.  My doctor also prescribed Prozac, which, though I would prefer something natural, was completely necessary at the time!
Depression is nothing to mess around with...  It is very dangerous left untreated, so do whatever you can to address your depression.

Shane, there is lots of hope for you.  Sometimes after a big disappointment, you need to take it easy and nurture yourself.  Each time the Drs. do a procedure, they learn more and more, what works, what doesn't and why.  Just take it easy right now and be kind to yourself.  It won't be long until you're ready to try again with a refined technique or a different procedure altogether.

Feel free to contact me if you're feeling low.  Don't even think twice about it.
