Peter,

I agree.  With all the advancements that have been made so far, there surely will be applications for stem cell research in the treatment of ENS.

I suppose, like a lot of people on this forum, my desperation comes, not just from pain (in my case swelling/inflammation) but also a general lack of ability to function.  I had boundless energy before my sinus infections and subsequent sinus surgery.

However, today, I find it difficult to just make it through the day.  I keep telling myself, "tomorrow will be better," but it seems I live in a world of "tomorrows."  It's that feeling that life is passing you by, and, at my age, 51, I simply want to squeeze every ounce of zest I can from life.  But I am constantly bound by this syndrome, either treating it; moisturizers, sprays, anti-inflammatories, etc. etc.  or just plain suffering.  I'm looking for work right now and I know my difficulty finding employment (I had a business before this...) is due, not to the economy, but to my constant pain and lethargy.

Honestly, I would want the best of both worlds.  That is, perhaps getting relief for now with the injections and considering stem cell for the future, as I do believe it will be the next big sea change in medicine.

My questions for Dr. Das will be directed toward this short-term, long-term approach.  My hope is that the PRP/ACell does not preclude the use of Stem Cell therapy at a later time.

Having said that, the cost is prohibitive.  $1800 and some change for the first injections and $1500 thereafter is what I read.  Don't know if this has changed.

I'll be lucky if I can afford just one injection, which hardly seems enough to get results, but, I am on this road and I'm going to follow where it leads, even if I only make it past the consult.  It would be great if insurance covered any of the cost, but, right now, that is not the case.

Thanks, Peter, for having such an awesome attitude.  I can say, some pretty great people have this ENS and I do feel as though I am fighting along side all of you.
