Update:
I realized that part of my dryness was caused by the antibiotic Doryx that I have to take frequently to clear up a skin infection on my face that always returns. I went off it for a while and felt more moisture in my nose. But then the infection came back, and I am back on it and feeling the dry effects. Hopefully I can ask the dermatologist if there is any topical or laser solution.

As for the implant into the septum, I am going to have it reduced again because that side of my nose is too narrow. I know it helps with moisture and helps reduce the number of nosebleeds, but the blockage from mucus is really terrible because there is so little room. It would probably be okay or tolerable if I did not have so much mucus. I do take Mucinex, but that does not clear it enough. I stopped taking other drying allergy meds because i don't need them anyway. I might try using Astelin to see if it reduces mucus.

I will let you know how the reduction goes.

I just got the full face mask APAP (Auto titrating cpap machine) approved on my insurance, so it is coming on monday!!! I hope it helps.

The way my sleep doctor explains it, is if the nose gets too dry, the brain detects that and switches to mouth breathing. That is actually causing sleep apnea for me, and I have to sleep in a separate room now because I make too much noise gasping and choking for air in my sleep. I also probably had apnea to begin with, but the doctor told me that my snoring (reason for my doomed surgery that caused ENS) was caused by my deviated septum. My sleep doctor thinks it was probably more caused by my palate collapsing at night.

I'll let you know how the APAP works and the full face mask - to cover my nose and mouth - best for mouth breathers.
