I get the burning quite a lot too, so bad it really hurst most days (like right now as I type). There are many ENS related reasons for this (TE or CM may help on this). Kinda feels like its stinging or I am inhaling dry ice. I think it was Matt whom descibed it well in his ENS video, like a person inhaling too fast in a sauna.

Personally, I feel its got a lot to do with the dryness of the more turbulent air in an excessively patent airway combined with the loss of Turbinate and cilia function. This all contributes to a very bad drying out effect on the tissues in the nasal passages and whats left of the turbinates. I think this is somewhat confirmed by the fact that saline irrigation or steam alleviates it somewhat temporarily. Other tissues inside the nose all get affected by this too, the mucosa lining of your septum and nasal cavity etc. I thikn the scar tissue or scarring of the existing tissue doesnt help either, due to the fact that it too loses its function (perhaps another reason why one study found that the average no. of operations received by people ending up with ENS is 2.3 or something like that). These are just some of my personal non professional thoughts.
