I believe you have to be concious not to eat too much industrial and fast food. There is a simple way you can adopt that will help you make sure of that:
Simply make it a point to prepare your own food. If it's something that comes in a bag an is thrown into the microwave - damp it. A person has to prepare his own food, cook it, fry it, boil it, bake it, what ever. Then you will learn to appreciate it more and you wil find that yuo eat just as much as you need. But I am against dieting or even restricting your amounts of food. If you happen to eat a lot - simply burn more calories with more exercise the next day, that's all. Sports and physicla activity should be the real gauge on keeping your weight - not dieting and restricting amounts of food.
Sports will also reduce levels of stress and anxiety which are the main causes for over eating in modern societies.
