I am trying to figure out what is going on with my breathing. Things shift a lot over the course of the day, and I want to know how to "fix" them to make myself more comfortable.
It has taken many months to understand the sensations etc. So, I am going to try here to work it out - hoping some of your comments will help.
I have been breathing "wrong" for so long, before and after the surgery, that it is hard to separate out any compensatory sorts of things I may be doing from what I adopted as things progressed with the ENS over the months.
My main concern is the lack of resistance. Sometimes it seems as though hardly any air goes into my lungs when I breathe softly. I can get air in if I draw a deep breath, but it fills my lungs, only expanding them but never feeling full or satisfying.
I am mostly concerned about the fact that my tissues and nose has lost its power.
I read about some of you feeling "full" after a shower, but this does not happen to me. I get sort of stuff in some places, but the "lower nose" as I call it is still clear and has a weak ability to pull in air.
If I lift my cheek it feels clearer and more open, but the ability to take in air through my nose does not increase.
Same effect with breathe right strips.
Other times when breathing softly, at rest, when the inhaling power is greater (I guess some nasal resistance increase), air fills my lungs, but more so in the upper lung, expanding outward, without the signal to stop. I stop inhaling only because I trained myself to sense I should.
I am tired of this sensation. Will it improve?
How significant is my situation? I am freaking out.
